One-day Guided Bike Trip to KARLSTEJN CASTLE
-Historical Trip to Czech Countryside (7 hours)
This Countryside Bike Tour rolls you to the 650 year-old Karlstejn Castle, " The Czech treasure of the treasure" & through the beautiful Cesky Kras area.This gothic castle with enchanting monumental architecture is located southwest of Prague. Karlstejn is one of the most visited Czech castles. It was built by King Charles IV. between 1348 -1355. Karlstejn served as a depository of royal, empirial and coronation jewels as well as an archive of state documents.
We start our bike trip to Karlstejn from the Praha Bike office in the center of Prague. We follow the bike path along Vltava and Berounka River after. Biking to the castle from Prague takes about 3,5 hours. We have a lunch at the village and excursion of the castle and surroundings. The guide will introduce you to both the history of this castle and life of Charles IV., the famous king's era and cultural impact.
We return back to Prague by train. Our trip ends at the Praha Bike office around 17:00.
