Basic information about Prague Vienna Greenways Trip.
Prague-Vienna Greenways is a network of bicycle and pedestrian paths and trails between Prague and Vienna. By bike you have a chance to discover historical cities and villages, visit romantic castles, medieval monasteries, to get close to the culture and traditions or enjoy a good local wine in wine cellars.
- The best to plan a trip from the middle of April to the middle of October.
- Official start of the the Prague Vienna Greenways at park in Prague 13. As you take bikes from Praha Bike office we will give you map with directions how to get to the bike path and start the trip.
- Official end is in Vienna - Stammersdorf
- Length: 470 km
- Prague - Vienna Greenways leads predominantly quiet asphalt roads, some short sections also on unpaved roads. For the trip you can use trekking or mountain bikes. We recommend to use trekking bikes as they are faster then mountain bikes, but are still great for unpaved or some rough conditions.
Traveling time depends on number kilometers you want to cover everyday. Usually from 5 to 10 days.
If you don't have enough time or want to skip some part of the route you can take the train. You can transport bikes in the trains. To check train availability and prices on different connections visit official web site of

Necessary Equipment and Information.
For Bike trip from Prague to Vienna we provide :
- a quality trekking bike with 28" wheels, 24 gears, man/female Alu frames, different frame sizes,
- a safety bike lock,
- a helmet,
- the Prague-Vienna Greenways map with directions,
- a rack with panniers,
- the regular pedals, but you can ask us for different pedals or bring your own and we will install it on the bike
- a repair kit (pump, tube, patches, and tools)
- pick up or drop off bike service ,
- storage of your luggage
- assistance in English and other languages.
Accommodation in towns and villages along the Greenways Bicycle Route.
You can get accommodation almost in any town you going to pass on your trip. It means you can get Hotel, Pension or Camping
depending where you are going to finish your trip each day.
